PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan has chosen Reign in Blood by Slayer as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Angus Khan!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price dodges the punch combination from Khan.

Price forces Khan back against the cage and clinches.
Khan misses with some punches.
Price drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.

Khan tries to keep at a distance but Price has taken the fight into the clinch.

Price breaks from the clinch.
A punch combination from Khan misses.
Price takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Price misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Khan.
Khan misses with a few strikes there.
Khan keeps the fight on the outside.
Price tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Price looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Khan throws a solid leg kick but Price takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Khan.

Price moves into the clinch.
Khan avoiding damage as Price throws knees to the body.
Khan gets through Price's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Khan prevents the takedown attempt.
Price goes for a takedown attempt but Khan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Khan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Price circles away quickly and effectively.
Khan swats away the attempt to clinch by Price.

Khan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Khan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Price is trying to defend but Khan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Price moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Price throwing strikes but missing.
Price postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Price wants to stand and escape but instead Khan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Khan won't allow Price to sweep him here.
Price manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Khan manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like Price is going to stand back up.
Price wants to free his trapped foot but Khan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Khan tries to roll over but Price keeps him under control.
Price wants to pass the guard but Khan is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Price connects with a nice short shot to Khan's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Angus Khan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Khan fails to land with a series of punches.
Price looks to throw the jab but Khan is out of range.
Price pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Khan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Price tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range.

Price rushes Khan and presses him up against the cage.
Price misses with a punch on the inside.

Price wants the takedown. Khan is fighting it off but Price persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Khan's guard against the cage.

Khan has control of Price's left arm, preventing Price from doing any damage.

Price postures up in Khan's guard and throws a big left but Khan blocks it.

Price makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Price thows a big elbow that misses.
Price is looking to work some ground and pound but Khan has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Price has gone for a leg lock! Khan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Price's guard.
Khan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Price throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.

Price isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Khan stacks Price on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Khan!
Price is looking to regain half guard here but Khan keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Khan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Price striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Price is trying to get back to half guard.

Price throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Price throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Khan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Price missing with a left hand there. Khan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Khan tries for a takedown but Price sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Angus Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Khan counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Price down! Khan is looking to finish but Price is intelligently defending himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Price looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Khan is trying to break free.

Khan has a couple of punches blocked by Price.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Price is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Khan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Angus Khan seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Khan stalks Price and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Price's face. Price staggers backwards, shaken.

Price leaves Khan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown by Price or perhaps it was just good defense by Khan which made him look bad.

Khan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Khan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Price shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Price accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Khan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Price manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Khan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Khan's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Khan duly obliges.

Price drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Robert Price has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Angus Khan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Angus Khan.
I've got Khan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
