Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nikko Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dusty Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikko Babalu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dusty Johnston!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babalu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Babalu fails with a takedown attempt.
No joy there for Babalu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Babalu throws a nice looking combination but Johnston bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnston shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Babalu sprawls well. Babalu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnston gets slowly back to his feet.
Babalu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnston moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Babalu is looking to clinch but Johnston is avoiding it.
Babalu throws a right and a left that Johnston avoids nicely.
Babalu is looking to land body kicks.
Johnston uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Babalu.
Johnston fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Babalu.
Johnston gets back to half guard.
Babalu prevents Johnston from improving his position.
Johnston makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnston.

Johnston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Johnston is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnston lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Johnston scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Johnston is looking to stall here but Babalu recovers full guard.

Johnston trying to control the position from guard on top but Babalu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Johnston is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

I looks like Johnston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Johnston gets to his feet. Babalu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Babalu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnston.

Johnston drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johnston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Babalu keeps working.

Johnston slows the pace down.
Babalu takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dusty Johnston dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Johnston bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Babalu manages to work his way to half guard, despite Johnston's best efforts.
Johnston not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Johnston prevents Babalu from standing back up.

Johnston is working for a kimura but Babalu is defending it quite comfortably.
Babalu pushes Johnston off looking to stand but Johnston dives back in and keeps control.

Johnston is thwarting Babalu's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnston is keen to just control but Babalu is a slippery customer.
Babalu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Babalu tries to get out of the position.
Johnston is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Babalu!
Babalu is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Johnston pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Johnston controlling his opponent.

Johnston lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Babalu hang on?
Babalu is squirming around, avoiding Johnston's attempts to control the action.
Babalu is trying desperately to improve position.
Babalu holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Johnston tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnston lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Babalu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Johnston trying to control but Babalu is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Babalu tries to lock up and control but Johnston gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dusty Johnston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Babalu gets the takedown into side control.
Babalu tries to move into full mount but can't pass Johnston's legs.
Babalu trying to control the action but Johnston is working from the bottom.

Johnston struggling a bit here.
Johnston wants to get back to his feet.

Babalu tries to stand but Johnston controls the position and pulls Babalu into his guard.
Babalu throwing strikes from guard but Johnston blocks nicely.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dusty Johnston just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Johnston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Johnston is working Babalu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Babalu wants to sweep here but Johnston controlling him for the moment.

Babalu pushes Johnston off but Johnston dives into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nikko Babalu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dusty Johnston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Let's hope that Johnston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Babalu wants to get back to his feet.
Babalu is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Johnston is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Babalu trying desperately to get to his feet.

Dusty Johnston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Johnston winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
