Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Fegar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Catalina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Catalina is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Fegar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Catalina! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Catalina misses with a jab, cross combination.
Catalina listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fegar fails in his attempt to clinch. Fegar lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Catalina takes the fight into the clinch. Catalina breaks the clinch.
Catalina throws a sloppy head kick and Fegar moves out of range easily. The fighters circling - Catalina throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fegar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Catalina blocks the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fegar drives through with a takedown into guard. Fegar trying to control but Catalina is working from the bottom. Fegar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fegar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Catalina swivels though and keeps the full guard. Catalina throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fegar postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fegar takes a swing at Catalina's ribcage but misses. Fegar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Fegar looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Fegar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fegar is looking to clinch but Catalina is avoiding it.
Fegar tries for a takedown but Catalina sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James Catalina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fegar keeps the fight on the outside. Catalina doesn't manage to clinch there - Fegar circles away.
Catalina throws a right hand that Fegar ducks under and follows up with a left that Fegar also avoids with ease. Catalina clinches with his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Catalina escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Catalina throws a nice looking combination but Fegar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fegar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Catalina but Catalina pushes him off and we're back to square one. Catalina has a takedown stuffed. Catalina goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Fegar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Catalina counters by moving into the clinch. Fegar jumps guard but Catalina stands there with Fegar around his waist. Fegar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Catalina gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fegar is looking to improve his position.
Fegar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fegar. Fegar is breathing heavily. Catalina won't allow Fegar to sweep him here. Fegar working a defensive guard here.
Catalina trying to control the position from guard on top but Fegar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fegar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fegar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Catalina doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Catalina manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Catalina with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Catalina dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A big right from Catalina misses. A clash of legs there as Catalina blocks the low kick. Fegar has his takedown stuffed and Catalina decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fegar's guard. Fegar keeping moving, preventing Catalina from controlling successfully. Fegar working for a triangle but Catalina defends it easily.
Catalina trying to control but Fegar is working from the bottom. Catalina trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fegar's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fegar trying to control the position.
Catalina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fegar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Catalina wants to pass the guard but Fegar is keeping the position. Fegar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fegar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Catalina manages to get himself to full guard.
Catalina manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Catalina shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fegar's guard. Fegar looking for a sweep. Not yet Fegar, not yet. Catalina tries to free his leg and advance position but Fegar is retaining full guard. Fegar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fegar lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Catalina! Catalina is squirming around, avoiding Fegar's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Catalina is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Fegar has taken his back.
Catalina is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
I really don't envy Catalina right now.
Catalina trying to control the action but Fegar just sinks the hooks in. Fegar looking for the RNC. Fegar is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Catalina has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fegar is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Catalina controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Catalina is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Catalina tries to break free.
Fegar is not going to allow Catalina to sit and survive in this position. Catalina tries to escape but Fegar has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Fegar wants to control but Catalina is keeping busy. Catalina is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Catalina turns into Fegar and is now in his guard.
Catalina is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Let's hope that Catalina has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Fegar is trying to control the position but Catalina postures up. Catalina scoring with some ground and pound. Fegar has his foot on Catalina's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Catalina works his way back into a safe position though. Catalina content to stall in guard here. Catalina trying to control the position from guard on top but Fegar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fegar pushes a forearm under Catalina's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Catalina is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
