Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kidd has chosen Virtual Diva as his entrance music. Thomas Wright is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Wright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Kidd! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kidd as he jumps to the side. Kidd slips a jab and a cross from Wright.
Wright shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kidd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wright paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wright avoids the head kick by Kidd.
Kidd moves in looking to clinch but Wright pushes him off. Wright tries for a takedown but Kidd sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kidd throws a jab when Wright was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wright paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kidd throws out a loose jab but Wright uses good head movement to avoid it. Kidd throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright feints and as Kidd raises his hands in defense, Wright changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wright slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kidd looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wright is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kidd will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Wright won't allow Kidd to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Wright swings for the body but Kidd moves out of range.
Wright ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright just misses with a punch to the body.

Wright throws a lazy head kick and Kidd counters with a left and a right that stings Wright. Wright shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wright showed some decent athleticism there. Wright working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kidd on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wright drops an elbow to the side of Kidd's head. Wright frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Wright.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd regains half guard. Wright is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kidd is just riding it out for now. Wright eventually gives up the hold. Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kidd keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kidd is looking to control Wright's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kidd avoid being mounted? Wright prevents Kidd from improving his position. Wright blocks the strikes from Kidd.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nice strikes from Wright there. Wright seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wright is looking to take a break and control but Kidd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kidd is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wright pulls his head out easily. Kidd looks gassed! Kidd punching from the bottom.
Kidd looking for submissions off his back. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wright lands a nice short elbow. Kidd is in trouble now - Wright has advanced to mount! Wright lands a heavy elbow. Wright swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
