Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tempelton Shire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aidan Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fire has chosen Powerman 5000 - When Worlds Collide as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tempelton Shire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aidan Fire!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fire wants to clinch up but Shire keeps it at a distance.

Shire instigates a clinch.

Fire manages to pull guard.
Shire tries to free his leg and advance position but Fire is retaining full guard.
Shire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fire on the ground.
Fire is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fire keeping full guard, as Shire tries to pass.
Shire trying to control the position from guard on top but Fire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fire escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shire gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fire is trying to control the position but Shire postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shire trying to control but Fire is working from the bottom.

Fire working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shire doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shire manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shire has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fire looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fire is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shire defends well.
Fire keeping moving, preventing Shire from controlling successfully.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fire is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Fire is looking for a triangle but Shire pushes his legs off easily.
Fire looks gassed!
Shire wants to stand and escape but instead Fire has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Shire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fire postures up.

Shire keeping moving, preventing Fire from controlling successfully.
Shire is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fire throwing strikes but missing.
Shire working a defensive guard but Fire manages to pass into side control anyway.
Fire is staying tight to Shire's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Fire is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shire knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shire tries to bench press Fire off him but Fire keeps the position.
Fire throws an elbow but Shire slips to the side and avoids it well.
Shire looking for a sweep but Fire has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Shire has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
You can see the frustration on Shire's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aidan Fire dominated that round.
That's time! Shire's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Fire has a takedown stuffed.
Shire misses with a series of wild punches.
Fire looks to land a left hand but Shire moved out of range nicely.
Fire misses with a combination
and Shire counters with a right hand to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Fire as Shire shoots in.
Shire throws a head kick that misses.
Shire fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Aidan Fire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shire circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fire misses with a takedown attempt - Shire sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fire is breathing heavily.
Fire changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shire tries to avoid it but Fire manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shire to the ground. Shire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tempelton Shire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aidan Fire.
Shire keeps the fight on the outside.

Shire shoots in but no luck this time.
Tempelton Shire is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fire drives through and clinches with Shire against the cage.
Shire tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fire avoids it.
Shire wants to break free but Fire has control.
Shire tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fire jumps guard but Shire stands there with Fire around his waist. Fire gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fire tries to clinch up
and Shire counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fire thinking.
Shire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
No luck for Fire with that takedown attempt.
Shire throws a front kick aimed at Fire's knee but Fire avoids it well.
Shire shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fire sprawls well. Fire wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shire gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shire throws a wild body kick that Fire sees coming a mile off.
Shire fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fire misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shire wants to clinch.
Fire keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Fire looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fire connects with a nice short shot to Shire's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fire is trying to control. Shire wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fire trying to mount his opponent but Shire defends it.
Shire is looking to improve his position.
Fire is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shire!

Fire swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Shire is now in Fire's guard. A big mistake from Fire there, giving up the dominant position!

Fire working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shire doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shire manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shire is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Shire has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fire is proving hard to escape from.
Shire trying to control but Fire is working from the bottom.
Shire is looking to work some ground and pound but Fire has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aidan Fire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Shire tries for a takedown but Fire manages to get underhooks.
Fire jumps guard but Shire stands there with Fire around his waist. Fire gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Fire is trying to maintain a safe position but Shire gets an underhook and turns Fire into the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Fire.
Fire tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shire just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fire fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tempelton Shire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aidan Fire.
Fire fails to pull guard.
Fire tries to pull guard but Shire won't allow it.
Shire fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Shire is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fire gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Fire tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shire just stands there and leans against the cage.

Shire jumps guard but Fire stands there with Shire around his waist. Shire gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shire jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fire walks away with a smile on his face. Shire gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Shire stuffs the takedown.
Fire checks the leg kick nicely there.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fire.
Nice takedown defense from Fire. No joy for Shire on that attempt.
Shire doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fire counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shire working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fire.
Fire trying to control the position from guard on top but Shire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fire loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Shire wants to sweep but no luck.
Fire won't allow Shire to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fire wants to control from the top but Shire keeps moving.
Shire is looking to stand up but Fire isn't so interested in that idea.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shire tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shire scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shire.
Fire swats away the attempt to clinch by Shire.

Fire throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shire was covering up waiting for the punch and Fire finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Aidan Fire is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Fire advances position into side control!
Shire seems a little lost for a moment, as Fire dominates the positioning.
Fire is looking to take a break and control but Shire is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shire is trying to buck Fire off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fire advances to full mount.
Shire is looking to improve his position but Fire isn't that keen on the idea.
Fire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shire is looking to escape.
Shire tries to lock up and control but Fire gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aidan Fire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fire winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
