Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Arshavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Nogerio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arshavin comes to the cage accompanied by The Arsenal Mastermind. Antonio Nogerio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Nogerio! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nogerio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arshavin tries to avoid it but Nogerio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arshavin to the ground. Arshavin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Arshavin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Arshavin gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Arshavin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nogerio backwards. Nogerio struggles to land a body shot inside as Arshavin controls his hands.

Nogerio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Arshavin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nogerio has Arshavin in his guard. Nogerio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nogerio looks gassed! Arshavin wants to stand but Nogerio has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Arshavin trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nogerio is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arshavin defends well. Arshavin wanted to stand there but Nogerio had control of the position. Arshavin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Arshavin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Antonio Nogerio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arshavin moves into the clinch. Arshavin lands a hook that snaps the head of Nogerio backwards. Arshavin digs a right hand into Nogerio's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Nogerio's gas tank. Arshavin cracks Nogerio with a nice body shot. Andrei Arshavin has scored more points in the clinch so far. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Arshavin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Arshavin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Andrei Arshavin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nogerio tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that's the end of the fight! Andrei Arshavin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Arshavin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
