Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Hegart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Connoly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connoly comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Hegart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dan Connoly!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connoly fails to land the takedown.
Hegart misses with a takedown attempt
and Connoly counters with a single leg into guard. Hegart didn't expect that.
Connoly looks gassed!
Hegart throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hegart wants to sweep here but Connoly controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hegart had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Connoly is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hegart Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Connoly's back instead.
Connoly looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Hegart has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Connoly has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hegart tries to get the hooks in deep but Connoly pushed the leg off.
Hegart has the hooks in. Connoly is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Hegart is working for a rear naked choke. Connoly is not defending it well and Hegart has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Connoly refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Connoly's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alan Hegart!
