Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Baroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winchester walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Baroni scores with a hook. Baroni stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baroni wants it to stay on the feet. Baroni's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Baroni duly obliges. Winchester takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Winchester ducks right into an uppercut from Baroni. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Winchester closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Baroni to the mat! Baroni manages to get full guard. Winchester tries to free his leg and advance position but Baroni is retaining full guard. Winchester throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Winchester in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Winchester throws a strike but Baroni rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Baroni lands with an uppercut that bounces Winchester off the cage and back into rage. Winchester fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baroni sprawls well initially but Winchester persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Winchester looks gassed! Baroni is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winchester scores with a couple of nice shots. Winchester has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Baroni regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Winchester. Baroni is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winchester is controlling him. Baroni knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winchester on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Winchester with a flurry of punches that miss. Winchester throws a strike but Baroni rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Winchester throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baroni's waist but Baroni gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Winchester off to one side. Winchester shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baroni as he avoids it easily. A punch combination from Baroni misses. Baroni is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Baroni lands a really nice looking cross but Winchester seems unphased.
Winchester bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Winchester cracks Baroni with an elbow. That is naaassty. Sloppy strikes there by Winchester. Winchester landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Baroni pushes Winchester away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Winchester gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Winchester cracks Baroni with an elbow. That is naaassty. Baroni takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Winchester misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Winchester seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Baroni manages to escape and get back to his feet! Winchester shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Winchester showed some decent athleticism there. Baroni blocking the ground and pound attempt from Winchester. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Winchester thows a huge punch but Baroni dodges it nicely.
Buck Winchester has got the better of the ground game so far.

Winchester throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Winchester looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baroni with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Baroni has hold of Winchester's hands but Winchester slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Winchester not landing any meaningful shots this time. Winchester missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Winchester throwing shots but Baroni is blocking nicely. Winchester thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Baroni's head. Baroni avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winchester.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Baroni rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Winchester moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Winchester fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Baroni could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Winchester shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Baroni sprawls well. Baroni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Winchester gets slowly back to his feet. Baroni lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Winchester circles away quickly and effectively. Winchester shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baroni but Baroni pushes him off and we're back to square one. Phil Baroni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Buck Winchester. Danga de danga de dang - Baroni scores with a four punch combination! Buck Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baroni connects with the punch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Winchester is defended easily by Baroni. Winchester shoots in and drives through. Baroni sprawls well. Winchester working the body and head with strikes. Baroni on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Winchester decides to take the fight back to the feet. Winchester tries for a takedown but Baroni sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Buck Winchester comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Winchester has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
