PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Minemeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minemeyer has chosen Space Lord by Monster Magnet as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Terry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Minemeyer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terry thows a body kick. Minemeyer tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Terry looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Minemeyer!
Minemeyer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Terry working away from the top, dropping strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Terry wants to control the pace but Minemeyer is squirming around nicely.
Terry cracks Minemeyer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Minemeyer is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Minemeyer tries to hold on but Terry postures up.
Terry tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Minemeyer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Minemeyer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Minemeyer tries to reverse the position but Terry maintains control.
Terry has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Minemeyer's face.
Terry pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Terry lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Terry wants to control the action but instead Minemeyer gets a body lock and reverses into Terry's guard! Nice work!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Terry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Minemeyer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minemeyer is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Terry is keeping busy.

Jake Terry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Minemeyer.

Terry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Minemeyer as he jumps to the side.
Terry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Minemeyer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Minemeyer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Terry was well out of range. Poor timing from Minemeyer.
The fight stays on the outside here - Minemeyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Terry looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Minemeyer is working for a guillotine from mount but Terry frees his head quite easily.

Minemeyer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Terry manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Terry is trying to work for a sweep but Minemeyer has mounted him!

Minemeyer wants to control the pace but Terry is squirming around nicely.
Terry tries to buck Minemeyer off but he can't manage it.

Minemeyer looking for a guillotine from mount but Terry is having none of it.

Minemeyer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Terry is now in Minemeyer's guard. A big mistake from Minemeyer there, giving up the dominant position!
Terry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Minemeyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terry is aware though and is defending well.

Terry won't allow Minemeyer to sweep him here.
Terry is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Terry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Minemeyer's guard.

Minemeyer tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Terry presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Minemeyer is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Barry Minemeyer will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Terry drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Minemeyer is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Terry wants to control from the top but Minemeyer keeps moving.
Minemeyer is trying to keep Terry in close.

Terry tries to free his leg and advance position but Minemeyer is retaining full guard.

Terry is posturing up here but Minemeyer has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Terry tries to roll out but it's too tight and Terry has to tap! Slick submission there by Minemeyer!
