2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gunner Grant! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gunner Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Grant scores with a jab to the body. Grant lands a body shot.

Grant shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Grant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Grant shoots in and bounces Mir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Grant throwing strikes but missing. Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Grant is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mir closes the distance but Grant moves to the side and Grant cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mir is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Grant. Grant fails to land with a series of punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Grant has had enough of the clinch but Mir keeps him there for the moment. Grant is trying to force a seperation but Mir has the dominant position. Grant breaks the clinch.
Grant is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Grant looks to land a right hand but Mir moved out of range. Mir tries for a takedown but Grant circles away easily and Grant counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mir shoots and misses and Grant counters with a nice double leg into guard. Grant throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gunner Grant has got the better of the ground game so far. Grant preventing the sweep. Mir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mir keeping moving, preventing Grant from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Grant postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Grant fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Grant closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The strikes coming from Grant are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The referee asks Grant politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Grant prefers to stall for the moment though. Mir tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grant wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucky escape for Mir because Grant loaded up on that one.

Grant wants to stand but Mir has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Grant takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Grant is working for a submission of some sort.
And that's the end of the fight! Gunner Grant comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Grant has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
