Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Kniga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Romain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Kniga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eric Romain!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kniga closes the distance and clinches up with Romain, looking for a takedown. Kniga pushes Romain against the cage but Romain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kniga is looking to clinch.
Kniga swinging wilding here.
Kniga fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Romain is out of range.
Romain tries to clinch there but Kniga circles away.

Kniga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Romain's guard.
Romain working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kniga.
Kniga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kniga thows a big elbow that misses.
Kniga throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Kniga will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Romain wants to sweep but no luck.
Romain wants to control the position but Kniga says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Kniga drops back looking for a leg! Romain is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Romain manages to kick Kniga off! Kniga jumps back into Romain's guard.
Kniga is looking to work some ground and pound but Romain has wrist control.

Romain pulls Kniga in close to prevent any damage.
Kniga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kniga throws a big right hand that misses.
Romain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kniga's guard.
Romain throws and elbow that misses. Kniga uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Romain's guard. Nice move by Kniga!
Kniga postures up in Romain's guard and throws a big left but Romain blocks it.
Kniga works over Romain with some ground and pound from guard.
Romain looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kniga is one step ahead there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kniga working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kniga looking to sit in guard and control but Romain gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Romain stands and steps away. Kniga gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Romain wants to clinch.

Romain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Romain stops Kniga from getting back to his feet.
Kniga is looking to control Romain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kniga avoid being mounted?
Kniga is looking for a sweep. Romain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Romain sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kniga defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kniga is staying active underneath Romain, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kniga gets full guard.
Romain looking to sit in guard and control but Kniga gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Romain looks gassed!
Kniga lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Kniga will probably get the nod.

Kniga throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Romain was covering up waiting for the punch and Kniga finishes the takedown easily into guard.

and Romain counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Romain postures up in Kniga's guard and throws a big left but Kniga blocks it.

Romain stands up from Kniga's guard - Romain perhaps looking for a knockout.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Romain!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kniga tries for a takedown but Romain circles away easily

so Romain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Romain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Romain is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kniga looking to hit a scissor sweep but Romain is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kniga wants to stand up but Romain is controlling him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Romain wants to pass the guard but Kniga is keeping the position.

Kniga lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Romain!
Eric Romain has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kniga putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Romain tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Romain takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Romain is in a horrible position here. Kniga smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Kniga postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Romain looks a forlorn figure.

Kniga goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Romain is on top in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Eric Romain will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kniga wants to sweep here but Romain controlling him for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kniga changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Romain tries to avoid it but Kniga manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Romain to the ground. Romain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Romain counters with a nice body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Kniga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kniga takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Romain is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kniga's half guard.
Kniga is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, if Romain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Eric Romain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Romain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
