The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Alves misses.
Alves throws a nice inside leg kick.
Alves getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Potente swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves.
Alves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Potente tries to avoid it but Alves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Potente to the ground. Potente escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Potente stuffs the takedown attempt from Alves. Alves gets slowly back to his feet.
Alves misses with a double jab.
Alves cracks Potente with a right hand to the side of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Potente.

It looks like Wanderlei Alves has been cut.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Potente moves into the clinch.

Still in half guard, Potente seems content to control.
Potente wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wanderlei Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
