Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Jedson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sima Hui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sima Hui is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sima Hui!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jedson misses with a few strikes there.
Jedson looks to land a combination but Hui avoids it well.
Hui avoids the body shot from Jedson.
Hui avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fighters circling - Jedson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jedson misses with a straight right.
Hui shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jedson pinned against the cage. Jedson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jedson throws an overhand right that lands on Hui's shoulder, as Hui tries to avoid the shot.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jedson throws and low kick but Hui moves out of range easily.

Jedson cracks Hui with a right hand to the side of the head.

Jedson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hui sprawling to the canvas! Hui rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jedson finish him?!

Hui shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jedson as he jumps to the side.
Hui is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jedson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hui.
Hui takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That has opened up Sima Hui's cut even more.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jedson lands a glancing blow to the side of Hui's head.
The cut above Sima Hui's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Jedson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jedson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jedson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hui manages to avoid it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jedson tries to bum rush Hui with a series of wild strikes but Hui uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hui goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jedson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hui but great work by Jedson.

Jedson throws a hook to the side of Hui's head but Hui sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ron Jedson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jedson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hui is desperately trying to improve his position but Jedson has a good base and remains in mount.

Hui is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jedson pulls his head out easily.
Jedson wants to stand up but Hui has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Hui escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jedson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sima Hui has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hui throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jedson escapes and throws Hui's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Jedson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hui to his feet.

Hui has his takedown stuffed
and Jedson counters with a three punch combo that has Hui backing up. Hui nods at Jedson to acknowledge the strikes.
Jedson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hui misses with a takedown attempt
and Jedson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jedson motions for Hui to come forward. Jedson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Jedson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hui won't be happy with that.

Hui misses with a strike from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ron Jedson.
Well Jedson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
