Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derek Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chelios shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davison pinned against the cage. Davison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chelios fails with a takedown attempt.
Davison throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Davison thows a body shot but no joy.

Chelios closes the distance and clinches.
Davison has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Davison rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chelios moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Davison crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Chelios - the referee stops the clock and Davison gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Chelios. Davison manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Chelios drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davison manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chelios has Davison in his guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Davison wants to get up but he can't break Chelios's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Chelios seems keen to control Davison's posture.
Davison wants to stand but Chelios is controlling his posture from full guard.

Chelios wriggles free and stands up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A jab lands there for Davison.
Chelios keeps the fight on the outside.

Chelios drops his hands momentarily and Davison takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Davison throws a series of strikes that have Chelios backpedaling.

Davison tries to land a front kick but Chelios steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Chelios jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davison walks away with a smile on his face. Chelios gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Horrible takedown by Chelios or perhaps it was just good defense by Davison which made him look bad.
