Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Loco!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco slaps away a takedown attempt from Watson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Loco gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Loco wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving.
Loco stands up over Watson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Watson is on top in guard.

Watson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Loco or not.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Loco as Watson tries to tie him up.

Watson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Loco scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Brett Watson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco.
Loco is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Loco has Watson pressed against the cage, preventing Watson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Watson can't break the clinch.

Loco manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Loco lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Watson!

Loco fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Watson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loco looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Loco pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but El Loco will probably get the nod.

Watson closes the distance and clinches.
Loco has Watson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Watson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Loco is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Watson tries to circle away but Loco has him pinned against the cage.
Watson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Watson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
El Loco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Watson wants to clinch

and Loco counters with a shoot takedown. Watson fights it but they end up in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Watson is trying to control the position but Loco postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Watson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Loco has Watson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Watson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Brett Watson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco.
A frustrated look appears on Watson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Watson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Watson throws a punch but it's blocked by Loco.
Loco wants to break the clinch but can't.
Watson tries to score a body lock takedown but Loco shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Loco stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Watson stops a takedown attempt from Loco.
Loco has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Watson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Watson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Watson has managed to clinch.
Watson can't get the takedown.
Loco avoiding damage as Watson throws knees to the body.

Loco has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Watson uses from the top position.
Watson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Loco swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Watson wants to stand but Loco is controlling his posture from full guard.

Loco is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Loco passes the guard and advances to mount!
Watson is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Loco has taken his back.

Loco is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Watson is defending well though. Loco let's go of the attempt for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Loco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Watson pushes Loco off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Watson counters with a nice leg kick.
Loco has his takedown stuffed

and Watson counters with a takedown into side control.
Loco manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Watson connects with a nice short shot to Loco's temple.
Watson is taking a breather. Loco says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Loco is trying to maintain the position but Watson is very close to passing his half guard.

Loco holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Watson thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Loco to regain full guard.

Loco is working an open guard so Watson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Watson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Loco but Loco pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Watson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Loco regains guard immediately.
El Loco has got the better of the ground game so far.

Watson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Loco wants to sweep here but Watson controlling him for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Loco is on top in guard.
Loco sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Watson's guard.
Watson keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Loco perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Watson is trying to control but Loco manages to pass to mount!
Watson tries to reverse the position but Loco maintains control.

Loco looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Loco looking to control but Watson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brett Watson.
I think Loco has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
