Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erkki Jakola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Severi Turpaansaaja! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Jakola looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jakola fails in his attempt to clinch. Turpaansaaja changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jakola looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jakola is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Turpaansaaja has just dragged him back down to the mat. Turpaansaaja trying to control the action but Jakola is working from the bottom. Jakola wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Turpaansaaja cracks Jakola with an elbow. That is naaassty. Jakola wants to get back to his feet. Turpaansaaja works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jakola is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Jakola is trying to buck Turpaansaaja off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turpaansaaja looks up at the clock and then as Jakola takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Turpaansaaja smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Turpaansaaja creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Turpaansaaja working the ground and pound. Jakola throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Jakola is looking to clinch but Turpaansaaja is avoiding it.
Jakola tries to close the distance and clinch but Turpaansaaja swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Turpaansaaja changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Turpaansaaja misses with a straight left. Jakola gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Turpaansaaja.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jakola stuffs the takedown. Jakola dodges the punch combination from Turpaansaaja.
Turpaansaaja fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Turpaansaaja throws a hook but Jakola blocks it. Turpaansaaja has managed to clinch.
Turpaansaaja displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jakola up against the cage. Turpaansaaja is trying to break the clinch but Jakola is controlling him. Turpaansaaja tries to break the clinch but Jakola is controlling the position. Jakola keeps control of Turpaansaaja as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jakola misses with a knee strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Turpaansaaja has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jakola tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Jakola lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Severi Turpaansaaja has been cut. Jakola lands an elbow inside that Turpaansaaja shrugs off. Turpaansaaja wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jakola with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Jakola with a knee to the head.
Turpaansaaja is looking to break free of the clinch but Jakola has double underhooks. Turpaansaaja avoids the elbow strike from Jakola, against the cage.
Turpaansaaja has had enough of the clinch but Jakola keeps him there for the moment. Jakola is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Turpaansaaja is defending well for now. Jakola looking to throw knees to the head but Turpaansaaja is blocking nicely.

Turpaansaaja dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Jakola lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Jakola creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Turpaansaaja's defenses. Turpaansaaja tries to break the clinch but Jakola is controlling the position. Turpaansaaja tries to circle away but Jakola has him pinned against the cage. Turpaansaaja wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Turpaansaaja tries to circle away but Jakola has him pinned against the cage. Turpaansaaja tries to break free but Jakola pushes him back against the cage. Jakola landing knees to the head.
Turpaansaaja drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jakola pulls his leg out and moves away.
Turpaansaaja throws a hook but Jakola avoids it easily. Jakola closes the distance looking to clinch letting Turpaansaaja counter with a right hand. Jakola takes one on the chin but seems OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Severi Turpaansaaja dominated that round. The cut man is working on Severi Turpaansaaja's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jakola darts in trying to clinch and Turpaansaaja counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jakola's guard now. Turpaansaaja won't allow Jakola to get back to his feet. Turpaansaaja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jakola swivels though and keeps the full guard. Turpaansaaja cracks Jakola with a solid left hand. Jakola can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Turpaansaaja controls the pace. Turpaansaaja makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Turpaansaaja wants to control from the top but Jakola keeps moving. Turpaansaaja might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jakola kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jakola is looking to stand back up but Turpaansaaja counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jakola. Turpaansaaja prevents Jakola from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turpaansaaja is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Turpaansaaja cracks Jakola with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Turpaansaaja postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jakola looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Erkki Jakola has been cut. Turpaansaaja scoring with strikes but Jakola is staying in there.
Jakola is rocked! Turpaansaaja postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Jakola badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Turpaansaaja around the waist but Turpaansaaja pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Turpaansaaja is the winner by TKO! Turpaansaaja jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Severi Turpaansaaja!
