Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Neil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dilbert Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Neil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dilbert Chavez! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neil keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice jab there from Neil. Neil fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chavez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Neil to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Dilbert Chavez has been cut. Chavez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Neil counters with a two punch combo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chavez is defended easily by Neil. Chavez thows a body shot but no joy. Neil misses with a double jab
and Chavez counters with a single leg into guard. Neil didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez throws a strike but Neil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Chavez controlling the position. Neil throws and elbow that misses. Chavez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Neil's guard. Nice move by Chavez!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chavez scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Chavez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chavez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Chavez throwing strikes but missing. Chavez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Chavez throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Neil is pushing Chavez's head away, looking to escape. Chavez manages to hold on to the position though. Neil tries to buck Chavez off but Chavez is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Neil wants to clinch. Neil scores with a nice right hand.

and Neil counters with a series of strikes. Chavez will be more careful next time no doubt. Chavez tries to clinch but Neil is having none of it. Chavez throws a combination that misses and Neil counters with a stiff right hand. Chavez looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chavez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Neil defends it nicely. Neil wants to clinch. Some wild striking there from Neil.

Neil jabs Chavez right on the nose. Chavez blinks but takes it well. Dilbert Chavez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Chavez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Neil throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chavezs head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neil breaks the clinch.
Neil circles away from the clinch attempt and Neil counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Chavez is breathing heavily.

Neil lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Neil swinging wilding here.
Neil displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chavez throws out the jab. Neil lands a two punch combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neil throws a series of punches but Chavez avoids them all with ease. A shot to the body from Chavez misses and Chavez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Neil falls off balance throwing a combination
and Chavez counters with a single leg into guard. Neil didn't expect that. Neil pulls Chavez in close to prevent any damage. Neil is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Chavez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Neil works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chavez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Neil is keeping the position for now. Chavez is looking to work some ground and pound but Neil has wrist control. Chavez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Chavez slips a jab and a cross from Neil.
Neil lands with a right hand. Chavez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tyson Neil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Neil tries to bum rush Chavez with a series of wild strikes but Chavez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A left lands for Neil. Good work by Chavez as he checks the leg kick. Tyson Neil is winning the standup battle so far. Neil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A cross from Neil lands. Chavez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Neil swivels and escapes. Chavez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chavez. Neil moves in looking to clinch but Chavez pushes him off.

Neil lands a hook that snaps the head of Chavez backwards. Chavez swings wildly with an uppercut but Neil uses good head movement to avoid it. Neil softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neil manages to break the clinch.
Neil closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Neil's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chavez loads up on a big right hand but Neil slips the punch. Neil jabs Chavez right on the nose. Chavez blinks but takes it well. Neil lands a two punch combo.

Chavez is rocked! Neil lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chavez circles away quickly and effectively. Chavez is still on wobbly legs! Can Neil finish him? Neil fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Neil drops Chavez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Neil follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
