Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corey Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Gerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormier comes to the cage accompanied by Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Cormier!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clark Gerra!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cormier as he jumps to the side.
Cormier has his takedown stuffed
and Gerra counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cormier won't be happy with that.
Cormier gets back to half guard.
Cormier wants to get back to full guard.
Gerra is nestled in close to Cormier, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gerra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gerra wants to control but Cormier is keeping him busy.
Gerra stands up and beckons Cormier to join him on the feet.
Cormier tries to clinch but Gerra is having none of it.
Some wild striking there from Cormier.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cormier checks a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerra showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cormier.
Cormier scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Cormier darts in trying to clinch
and Gerra counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cormier is breathing heavily.
Gerra seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cormier does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gerra takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Gerra decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cormier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gerra counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cormier!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Gerra is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cormier has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cormier tries to lock up and control but Gerra gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gerra working for a guillotine from mount but Cormier is in no mood to give up.
Gerra throws some wild stikes that Cormier manages to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gerra is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cormier has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gerra with the ground and pound from mount.
Gerra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gerra is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Cormier is forced to tap! Great finish!
