Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitus Shavnetski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Powerman 5000 - Drop The Bombshell. The crowd seem to be enjoying Shavnetski's choice of entrance music: DMX - get it on the floor. Xavier Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vitus Shavnetski's chin.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Xavier Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Vitus Shavnetski! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left and a right from Gracie both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Vitus Shavnetski has been cut. Gracie is looking to clinch. Shavnetski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt. Shavnetski scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie is trying to stand up here but Shavnetski is controlling him well. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Shavnetski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shavnetski not landing any meaningful shots this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shavnetski trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shavnetski circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shavnetski throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Shavnetski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shavnetski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shavnetski to score with a decent uppercut. Shavnetski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Vitus Shavnetski will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vitus Shavnetski's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gracie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shavnetski's hands. Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shavnetski defends it nicely. Shavnetski falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gracie connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shavnetski scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Xavier Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shavnetski misses with a two punch combination.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shavnetski napping and manages to drive through into side control! The strikes coming from Gracie are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Gracie tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Shavnetski is breathing heavily.

Shavnetski is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Shavnetski is not content to let Gracie control the position. Gracie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gracie throws a series of punches but Shavnetski avoids them all with ease. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt. Shavnetski leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shavnetski misses with a low kick. Shavnetski falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gracie stands and steps away. Shavnetski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gracie tries to stand and escape but Shavnetski is controlling the position. Gracie prevents Shavnetski from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier Gracie dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Vitus Shavnetski's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Shavnetski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shavnetski showed some decent athleticism there. Shavnetski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Xavier Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done. Gracie is looking for a triangle but Shavnetski pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shavnetski defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie. Shavnetski is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Gracie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shavnetski is surviving well by controlling Gracie's body position as best he can. Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shavnetski holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gracie misses with a head shot. Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully. Gracie punching from mount but Shavnetski doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie wants to control the pace but Shavnetski is squirming around nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shavnetski is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Xavier Gracie showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
