Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Tanghe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kelso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelso has chosen That 70's Show Theme Music as his entrance music. Michael Kelso is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tristan Tanghe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kelso! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanghe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tanghe gets the takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kelso is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Tanghe working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Tanghe looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kelso is avoiding damage well.
Tanghe in the domination position with Kelso hanging on. Tanghe working the ground and pound but Kelso is defending the strikes. Kelso is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Kelso parries the strikes from Tanghe easily there. Tanghe is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kelso to escape.
Tanghe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tanghe working the ground and pound from side control. Tanghe throws a strike aimed at the side of Kelso's head but Kelso avoids it well. Tanghe cracks Kelso with a big elbow. The strikes coming from Tanghe are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Tanghe misses with the ground and pound. Sloppy strikes there by Tanghe. Tanghe throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanghe working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelso is trying to control Tanghe's posture but Tanghe avoids it. Kelso is trying to buck Tanghe off. Kelso manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Kelso prevents Tanghe from improving his position. Tanghe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kelso not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tanghe wants to improve his position but Kelso is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kelso is looking to clinch but Tanghe is avoiding it.
Michael Kelso is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch combination from Kelso misses. Kelso tries to clinch up. Tanghe misses with a takedown attempt - Kelso sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kelso scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Tristan Tanghe has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tanghe lands with a nice body punch. Kelso lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Tanghe misses with a two punch combination.
Tanghe is breathing heavily. Kelso fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tanghe works the jab nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Tanghe throws a hook but Kelso blocks it. Kelso fails in his attempt to clinch. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Kelso throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tanghe just misses with a punch to the body.
Tanghe misses with a low kick. Tanghe thuds his right hand into Kelso's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Kelso rushes Tanghe with punches - Tanghe moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Tanghe goes down! Kelso follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Kelso!
