Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jai Rousell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregg Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chambers has chosen Down Under as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jai Rousell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregg Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chambers cracks a nice hook into Rousell's ribs.

Chambers shoots in and bounces Rousell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Chambers throws a big right hand that misses.
Rousell trying to keep a closed guard but Chambers is proving a slippery customer.
Rousell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rousell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chambers's guard.
Rousell trying to control but Chambers is working from the bottom.
Rousell passes into half guard.

Rousell is trying to work for a kimura but Chambers is defending well.

Rousell is looking to take a break and control but Chambers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rousell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rousell prevents Chambers from standing back up.
Rousell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chambers's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rousell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rousell showed some decent athleticism there.
Chambers wants to improve his position but Rousell is controlling well.
Chambers trying to control but Rousell postures up.

Rousell is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rousell is trying to control the action in half guard but Chambers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Chambers has one foot on Rousell's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Chambers counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rousell wants to control but Chambers is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Chambers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rousell wants to improve his position but Chambers is controlling well.

Rousell regains full guard. Nicely done.
Chambers scoring with punches to the head and body.
Rousell trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Rousell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Chambers drags the fight down to the ground.
Rousell postures up and lands a big shot to Chambers's brow.
Rousell wants to control from the top but Chambers keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Rousell tries to get to full guard but Chambers has control of the leg.

Chambers working for a guillotine from mount but Rousell is in no mood to give up.

Rousell's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Chambers avoids the attempt from Rousell to control.
Rousell is in all sorts of trouble here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chambers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Chambers looking to finish Rousell with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rousell!
Chambers lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rousell is wriggling around trying to escape.

Chambers working for a submission but Rousell is keeping him at bay.
Chambers scoring with strikes but Rousell is staying in there.
Rousell slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rousell tries to roll over but Chambers keeps him under control.
Rousell is in trouble now - Chambers has advanced to mount!
Chambers controlling the pace for now.

Chambers looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Rousell is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chambers with the ground and pound from mount.
Gregg Chambers has got the better of the ground game so far.
Chambers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rousell is looking to escape.
Rousell tries to hold on but Chambers postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chambers landing strikes from the mount and Rousell is in trouble!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregg Chambers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Chambers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Chambers throwing shots but Rousell is blocking nicely.
Rousell is looking to improve his position.
Chambers is looking to stall here but Rousell recovers full guard.
Rousell wants to control but Chambers passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rousell trying to control from the bottom.
Rousell tries to roll over but Chambers keeps him under control.

Rousell blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chambers.
Rousell missing with punches from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Horrible takedown by Chambers or perhaps it was just good defense by Rousell which made him look bad.
Rousell has his takedown stuffed

and Chambers counters with a shoot takedown. Rousell fights it but they end up in guard.

Chambers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rousell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chambers has managed to get both his arms back between Rousell's legs - danger averted.
Chambers passes Rousell's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rousell wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rousell trying to hold on to Chambers's head to control him but Chambers postures up.
Rousell is trying to get back to full guard.
Chambers stops Rousell from getting back to his feet.
Chambers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rousell has hold of Chambers's hands but Chambers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rousell is looking for a sweep. Chambers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Chambers uses his free foot to push down on Rousell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rousell.
Rousell is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rousell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rousell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rousell is working hard here to advance position.
Rousell in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chambers lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Chambers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chambers is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rousell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Chambers controlling the pace for now.
Rousell is looking to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gregg Chambers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chambers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
