The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stone is defended easily by Thompson.
Thompson throws a looping overhand right but Stone ducks down to avoid it.
Chris Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stone gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense.

Stone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thompson keeps working.
Stone uses his free foot to push down on Thompson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thompson.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thompson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Stone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Thompson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
