Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raul Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greig Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: Duality. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Sanchez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Greig Smith! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez misses with a wild body shot. Sanchez misses with a straight right. Sanchez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Smith slips a jab from Sanchez. A big right from Sanchez misses. Sanchez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sanchez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Sanchez. No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sanchez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Smith is looking to chop away at Sanchez's legs. Sanchez misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target. Sanchez throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and checks it nicely. Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away. Sanchez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Smith staying out of range there. Sanchez thows a left - swing and a miss! Sanchez swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith. Sanchez throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and moves out of range. Smith checks the leg kick. Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith staying out of range there. Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Decent striking displayed by Smith there. Sanchez looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range. Sanchez misses with a wild body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Sanchez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A right-left combo lands from Sanchez. Sanchez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Sanchez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.
Smith is rocked! Raul Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sanchez lands a nice shot that snaps Smith's head back.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Sanchez finish him? Sanchez throws a combination that misses and Sanchez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sanchez throws a combination that misses and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Smith seems to have recovered his senses. Smith is looking for a kimura but Sanchez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Sanchez defends it. Sanchez makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Smith takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Smith throws a head kick but Sanchez moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Good standup being displayed there by Sanchez as he connects with a hook. Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanchez is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing. Sanchez throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it. Smith slips a jab and a cross from Sanchez.
Sanchez's corner calls for a 1-2. Sanchez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez which made him look bad. Smith looks gassed! Smith shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Raul Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greig Smith. Sanchez misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely. Sanchez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab by Sanchez. Sanchez lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Sanchez stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively. Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sanchez to score with a decent uppercut. I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Sanchez has cracked Smith with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Sanchez lands another huge swinging hook and Smith tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Smith, before Sanchez can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Raul Sanchez! Raul Sanchez retains his welterweight title!
