PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimura Supreme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura Supreme is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimura Supreme!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duncan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Duncan postures up.
Duncan trying to control the position from guard on top but Supreme is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Supreme trying to keep a closed guard but Duncan is proving a slippery customer.

Duncan drops back looking for a leg! Supreme is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Supreme manages to kick Duncan off! Duncan jumps back into Supreme's guard.

Supreme has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Duncan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Supreme.
Duncan is looking to take a break and control but Supreme is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Supreme stuffs the takedown.
Duncan fails with a takedown attempt.

and Duncan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Duncan.

Supreme looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Duncan has picked Supreme up and slammed him! Supreme can't keep hold of the triangle and Duncan manages to pass to side control!

Duncan wants to control the pace but Supreme is squirming around nicely.

Duncan looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Supreme is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duncan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Supreme is looking to escape.
Supreme is desperately trying to improve his position but Duncan has a good base and remains in mount.

Duncan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Supreme tries to improve his position but instead Duncan has taken his back!
Duncan is looking to control Supreme but Supreme is wriggling around and keeping busy.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kimura Supreme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Supreme shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Duncan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Supreme swings around for an armbar but Duncan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Supreme's guard.

Supreme looking for a guillotine here but Duncan defends easily.

Duncan gets to his feet - Supreme follows without any prompting.

and Duncan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Supreme!

Duncan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Supreme is looking to escape.
David Duncan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Supreme looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Duncan looking to break Supreme's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Supreme remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Duncan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Duncan controlling the positon.

Duncan tightening his grip on Supreme, looking for the choke.
Supreme breaks Duncan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Supreme is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Duncan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Duncan has escaped and now he's on top!

Duncan stands up and waves to Supreme to follow him.

Duncan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Supreme swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Duncan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Supreme's guard now.
Supreme tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Supreme is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Duncan is aware though and is defending well.
Duncan wants to control from the top but Supreme keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Supreme had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Duncan defends it easily.

Supreme working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Duncan has passed into half guard!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Duncan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Duncan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Supreme defends it well.

Duncan seems to be working for a kimura but Supreme defends the submission attempt.
Supreme has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duncan is working away from the top position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Duncan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Supreme is refusing to be controlled, as Duncan sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Duncan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Supreme keeps working.
Still in half guard, Duncan seems content to control.

Supreme bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Duncan's guard.

Supreme has gone for a leg lock! Duncan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Supreme's guard.
Duncan tries to free his leg and advance position but Supreme is retaining full guard.
Duncan wants to control from the top but Supreme keeps moving.

Supreme is looking for a triangle but Duncan pushes his legs off easily.

Supreme keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Supreme closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Supreme seems to be working for a kimura but Duncan defends the submission attempt.
Supreme lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kimura Supreme has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Supreme is looking for a kimura here.
Supreme throws a strike but Duncan avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
David Duncan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duncan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
