The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Price shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hickman pinned against the cage. Hickman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Price looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hickman is fending him off so far but Price persists. Nope, Hickman circles away and we're back to standing. Price looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hickman! Price controlling the position easily from mount. Hickman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Oooh a big shot gets through from Price. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Price is looking to control Hickman but Hickman is wriggling around and keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price landing with strikes. Price somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Price softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Price misses with a punch to the head. Hickman holding both Price 's hands and preventing any damage. Hickman covering up well under a barage of strikes. Hickman is covering up but some of the strikes from Price are getting through and doing damage.
Price gets his hands free as Hickman looks to control. Price connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Hickman to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooh a big shot gets through from Price. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Hickman looks gassed! Price has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hickman has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Price just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Price is punishing Hickman with strikes - can he finish him?! Hickman wants to escape the position.
Price lands a shot to the head. Price is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hickman with him. Hickman is trying to defend but Price has an arm under the chin now! Hickman grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alex Price!
