Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudy Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson gets a clinch.
Silva has Benson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Benson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Benson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Benson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Benson as the two fighters clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Benson tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Benson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Benson's back instead.
Benson tries to escape but Silva has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Benson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Silva has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Benson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Benson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
