Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Hyabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Mokkelime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu Hyabusa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryu Hyabusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jokke Mokkelime!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mokkelime shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hyabusa is trying to defend but Mokkelime finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hyabusa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mokkelime is working away from the top position though.
Mokkelime passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hyabusa!

Mokkelime avoids the attempt from Hyabusa to control.

Mokkelime swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hyabusa is now in Mokkelime's guard. A big mistake from Mokkelime there, giving up the dominant position!

Mokkelime has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hyabusa is fighting to break Mokkelime's control of his arms but Mokkelime is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Mokkelime wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hyabusa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hyabusa connects with a jab.
Hyabusa misses with a wild combination.

Mokkelime shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hyabusa's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Mokkelime seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hyabusa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Mokkelime counters with a single leg into guard. Hyabusa didn't expect that.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Mokkelime closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mokkelime wants to control but Hyabusa is keeping him busy.

Mokkelime working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hyabusa tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Mokkelime easily slips into full mount!

Hyabusa is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Mokkelime moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hyabusa has worked his arm free - good work by Hyabusa!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mokkelime wants to control but Hyabusa is keeping him busy.
Mokkelime is trying to move to mount but Hyabusa reverses beautifully and ends up in Mokkelime's guard.
Hyabusa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jokke Mokkelime showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Mokkelime is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hyabusa misses with a two punch combination.
Hyabusa throws a right and a left that both miss.
A combination from Hyabusa does no damage.
Hyabusa tries to clinch but Mokkelime is having none of it.
Mokkelime just misses with a punch to the body.

Mokkelime fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hyabusa sprawls well initially but Mokkelime persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mokkelime wants to advance to full mount but Hyabusa doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Hyabusa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mokkelime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mokkelime is looking to work some ground and pound but Hyabusa has wrist control.
Mokkelime wants to control from the top but Hyabusa keeps moving.
Hyabusa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

and Hyabusa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hyabusa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hyabusa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hyabusa is looking to clinch but Mokkelime is avoiding it.

Hyabusa closes the distance and clinches.
Mokkelime goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hyabusa prevents it.
Ryu Hyabusa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jokke Mokkelime.
Hyabusa tries to break the clinch but Mokkelime is controlling the position.

Mokkelime works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Mokkelime must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hyabusa is looking to sweep but instead, Mokkelime has passed into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mokkelime throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mokkelime lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Hyabusa is not content to let Mokkelime control the position.
Ryu Hyabusa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mokkelime looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mokkelime misses with a head shot. Hyabusa uses the momentum to regain guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mokkelime with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jokke Mokkelime is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mokkelime trying to control the position from guard on top but Hyabusa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
