The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendosa defending well as Silva loads up on a big left hand.
Mendosa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mendosa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mendosa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mendosa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!

Mendosa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
