The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pursey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pursey showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pursey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brown sees it coming and defends easily.
Pursey wants to free his trapped foot but Brown is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pursey seems to be looking for submissions.
Brown wants to get back to his feet.
Brown trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Brown is staying active underneath Pursey, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Brown is trying to stand up here but Pursey is controlling him well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pursey paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Daniel Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pursey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Pursey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pursey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pursey somewhat.

Pursey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brown.
Brown throws a hook but Pursey blocks it.

Brown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pursey, pushing him back against the cage.
Pursey tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brown just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pursey is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brown gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pursey shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Pursey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pursey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Daniel Brown showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brown, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
