Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manel Pimpolho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Swick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pimpolho is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Manel Pimpolho looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Manel Pimpolho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mack Swick! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pimpolho circles away quickly and effectively. Pimpolho is breathing heavily. Pimpolho stuffs the takedown attempt from Swick. Swick gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Swick with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Manel Pimpolho's cut is getting worse. Swick pulls guard effortlessly. Swick is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Swick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pimpolho's guard. Swick trying to control the position from guard on top but Pimpolho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swick slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swick trying to control the position from guard on top but Pimpolho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swick wanted to stand there but Pimpolho had control of the position. Swick trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pimpolho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pimpolho displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Swick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Swick lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Swick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Swick gets through Pimpolho's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Swick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Swick moves into range and clinches up with Pimpolho. Swick fails to pull guard.
Manel Pimpolho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mack Swick. Swick has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pimpolho is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Swick breaks the clinch.
Swick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Swick cracks a nice hook into Pimpolho's ribs. Swick rushes Pimpolho and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Pimpolho tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Swick smiles and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Swick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pimpolho as he jumps to the side. Swick closes the distance and clinches. Swick changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pimpolho fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Swick fails to land the takedown. Pimpolho shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Swick is trying to defend but Pimpolho finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pimpolho is looking to take a break and control but Swick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pimpolho tries to pass the half guard into mount. Swick knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pimpolho not landing any meaningful shots this time. Swick trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Swick is trying to stand.
Swick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pimpolho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pimpolho thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mack Swick dominated that round. The cut man is working on Manel Pimpolho's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pimpolho closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Swick to the mat! Swick manages to get full guard. Swick throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Pimpolho wants to control from the top but Swick keeps moving. Swick is looking to stand up but Pimpolho isn't so interested in that idea. Pimpolho looking to sit in guard and control but Swick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Pimpolho wants to sweep here but Swick controlling him for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swick trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pimpolho is trying to control the position but Swick postures up. Swick trying to control the position from guard on top but Pimpolho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Swick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pimpolho counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Swick's guard now. Swick seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Swick keeping moving, preventing Pimpolho from controlling successfully. Swick wants to get back to his feet but Pimpolho is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pimpolho trying to control the position from guard on top but Swick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swick is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pimpolho dives into side control.
Pimpolho in side control, just content to control the action for now. You can see the frustration on Swick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swick is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Swick is trying to control Pimpolho's posture but Pimpolho avoids it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pimpolho decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Pimpolho is trying to control the action in half guard but Swick is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swick is looking to improve his position.
Pimpolho thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Swick's head. Ground and pound from Pimpolho. Pimpolho is thwarting Swick's attempts to control the position. Pimpolho uses his free foot to push down on Swick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Swick. Swick is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manel Pimpolho dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Manel Pimpolho's cut. That's time! Pimpolho's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Swick clinches up with Pimpolho and pushes him back against the cage. Swick tries to pull guard but Pimpolho won't allow it.
Swick lands a right hand. Swick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Pimpolho slips a jab and a cross from Swick.
Pimpolho doesn't succeed with the takedown and Swick counters by moving into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pimpolho tries to pull guard but Swick holds him up against the cage and eventually Pimpolho drops back down to his feet.
Pimpolho decides to pull guard. Swick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Swick sitting in guard, not really doing much. Pimpolho wants to stand up but Swick is controlling him. Swick trying to control but Pimpolho is working from the bottom. Pimpolho looking for a sweep. Not yet Pimpolho, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pimpolho is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pimpolho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pimpolho controlling Swick's posture. Swick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pimpolho swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Swick tries to clinch up but Pimpolho circles away and keeps his distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Manel Pimpolho showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pimpolho has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
