Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Lyntus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bird has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Anderson Bird looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Lyntus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Bird! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lyntus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bird looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bird being controlled for a moment. Lyntus lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bird down.
Lyntus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bird keeps working. Bird is looking to regain half guard here but Lyntus keeps moving and retains side control. Bird really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyntus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bird looks gassed! Lyntus is looking to take a break and control but Bird is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bird is trying to get back to half guard. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lyntus lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Lyntus tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Lyntus advances nicely into full mount. Lyntus controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bird is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lyntus throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Lyntus looking to ground and pound but Bird is blocking nicely. Lyntus content just to control the position here. Lyntus tries to control but Bird wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bird is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Lyntus trying to control but Bird is having none of it. Lyntus controlling from the full mount.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Nick Lyntus just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Lyntus closes the distance and clinches. Lyntus wants to break free but Bird has control.
Lyntus jumps into guard, dragging Bird to the mat.
Lyntus wants to sweep here but Bird controlling him for the moment. Bird is posturing up here but Lyntus has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bird tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bird has to tap! Slick submission there by Lyntus!
