Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Derksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulson comes to the ring accompanied by Shwayze - High Together . Derksen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mindless Self Indulgence- Bitches. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Byron Derksen! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paulson is looking to clinch. Paulson scoring well with a low kick there.
Paulson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Derksen rushes Paulson and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Derksen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Derksen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Paulson is looking to regain half guard here but Derksen keeps moving and retains side control. Paulson misses with an elbow from the bottom. Paulson struggling a bit here. Paulson seems a little lost for a moment, as Derksen dominates the positioning. Paulson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Derksen is controlling him well. Derksen is looking to take a break and control but Paulson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Derksen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Derksen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Paulson shoots and misses and Derksen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Derksen. Paulson gets underhooks to prevent Derksen's takedown attempt.
Paulson tries to break the clinch but Derksen is controlling the position. Derksen breaks the clinch.

Paulson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Derksen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Derksen. Paulson breaks the clinch.

Derksen pulls guard effortlessly. Derksen looking for a guillotine here but Paulson defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Derksen pulls Paulson in close to prevent any damage. Paulson throws a strike but Derksen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Derksen trying to control the position from guard on top but Paulson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Derksen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Derksen looking to pass the guard. Derksen sitting in guard here, content to control. Paulson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Derksen gets to his feet. Paulson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Paulson throws a leg kick but Derksen sees it coming and checks it nicely. Derksen shoots in but Paulson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Robert Paulson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Byron Derksen. Derksen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paulson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Derksen's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Derksen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Paulson defends it well. Derksen stops Paulson from getting back to his feet.
Derksen content to control rather than advance. Derksen works his way into full mount! Paulson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Byron Derksen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Derksen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paulson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Derksen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Paulson stuffs the takedown. Derksen stuffs the takedown. Derksen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paulson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Derksen somewhat. Robert Paulson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Byron Derksen. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Derksen. Paulson tries to clinch but Derksen moves away and Derksen counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Derksen tries for a takedown. No joy.

Derksen is looking for a triangle but Paulson pushes his legs off easily.
Derksen is breathing heavily. Paulson trying to control the position from guard on top but Derksen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Derksen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Derksen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Paulson wants to stand but Derksen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Derksen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Paulson stops Derksen from standing up. Paulson wants to control from the top but Derksen keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Paulson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Derksen moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Paulson working hard to break the clinch. Derksen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Paulson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Derksen to score an easy takedown into full guard. Derksen showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Paulson pushes Derksen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Derksen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paulson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Paulson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Derksen is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Derksen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Derksen dominating with strikes here. Derksen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Paulson wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Paulson regains half guard. Nice strikes from Derksen there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Derksen in particular looking to stall. Derksen working Paulson over with strikes. Derksen is working for a kimura but Paulson is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Byron Derksen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Derksen misses with a body kick. A leg kick checked by Derksen. Paulson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Derksen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paulson manages to get himself to full guard.
Derksen tries to free his leg and advance position but Paulson is retaining full guard. Derksen trying to control the position from guard on top but Paulson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Paulson is looking to stand up but Derksen isn't so interested in that idea. Derksen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Derksen gets to his feet. Paulson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Derksen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Paulson wants to stand back up but Derksen manages to pass into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Let's hope that Derksen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Derksen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Derksen is trying to get an arm triangle but Paulson is defending well. Paulson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Derksen presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Derksen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Byron Derksen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Derksen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Robert Paulson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Derksen fails with the takedown. A nice inside leg kick there by Paulson. That's going to slow Derksen down. Derksen clinches up against the ropes. A short right from Derksen. Paulson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Derksen manages to break the clinch.
Robert Paulson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Paulson clinches but Derksen breaks the clinch and Derksen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Paulson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Derksen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Paulson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Derksen's back instead. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Derksen just trying to survive but Paulson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Derksen's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Paulson's hands. Derksen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Paulson's guard. Nice work there by Derksen.
Derksen stops Paulson from standing up. Derksen working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Byron Derksen has got the better of the ground game so far. Derksen stands up from guard. Let's bang! Paulson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paulson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
