Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, BJ Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pablo Rosa Rivera! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt. Sanchez dives in and grabs Rivera's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivera pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out. Rivera with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rivera circles away. Rivera leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sanchez scores a takedown into full mount! Sanchez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Rivera is working to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Sanchez goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rivera turns into him and now he's in Sanchez's guard.
Sanchez is breathing heavily. Rivera wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rivera defends well. Rivera would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez tries to strike from the bottom.
Sanchez has a closed guard, preventing Rivera from standing up. Sanchez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Rivera has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Rivera which made him look bad. Sanchez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Sanchez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rivera. Rivera scores with a leg kick.
Rivera connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pablo Rosa Rivera dominated that round. That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rivera lands a nice looking kick to the body. Sanchez takes a step back to recover. Rivera throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Rivera lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rivera lands a head shot.
Sanchez is rocked! Rivera scores with a kick to the midsection. Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rivera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanchez. That did some damage! Rivera throws an overhand right that has Sanchez reeling! Rivera follows up with more punches and Sanchez is out cold! This one is all over!
