The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt.
Sanchez dives in and grabs Rivera's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivera pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out.
Rivera with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rivera circles away.

Rivera wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rivera defends well.
Rivera would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Rivera which made him look bad.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rivera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanchez. That did some damage!
Rivera throws an overhand right that has Sanchez reeling! Rivera follows up with more punches and Sanchez is out cold! This one is all over!
