Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Slade Locus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfred Kodak! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Locus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kodak paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kodak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kodak lands in his opponent's guard. Kodak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kodak stops Locus from standing up. Kodak wants to control from the top but Locus keeps moving. Kodak pushes down on Locus's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kodak not doing much here.
Kodak wants to work for an arm triangle but Locus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Locus is trying to stand up here but Kodak is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kodak is keen to just control but Locus is a slippery customer. Kodak is working for a submission of some sort.
Kodak is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Locus is trying to get back to full guard. Kodak seems to be working for a kimura but Locus defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kodak is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Locus is just riding it out for now. Kodak eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kodak looks gassed! Locus tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kodak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Locus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kodak in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Locus tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kodak!
