Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Stglitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorje Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Slayer's choice of entrance music: Otep - Battle Ready. Jorje Slayer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorje Slayer! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stglitz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Slayer doesn't seem bothered though. No joy there for Stglitz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stglitz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stglitz throws a series of punches but Slayer moves out of range. Stglitz lands with a straight right. Slayer didn't see that one coming. Stglitz throws a right hand that Slayer ducks under and follows up with a left that Slayer also avoids with ease. Stglitz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Stglitz misses with a two punch combination.

Slayer scores with a takedown into Stglitz's guard. Stglitz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slayer drops back looking for a leg! Stglitz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stglitz manages to kick Slayer off! Slayer jumps back into Stglitz's guard. Slayer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stglitz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Slayer wants to pass the guard but Stglitz is keeping the position. Stglitz trying to control the position.
Slayer scoring with punches to the head and body. Slayer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stglitz dives on top into guard. Stglitz wants to get up but he can't break Slayer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Slayer wants to improve his position but instead Stglitz has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stglitz slows the pace down in half guard. Stglitz passes the guard and advances to mount! Slayer is looking to improve his position but Stglitz isn't that keen on the idea. Stglitz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Slayer is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Slayer tries to reverse the position but Stglitz maintains control. Stglitz looking to control but Slayer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Slayer is looking to get to half guard. Stglitz tries to control but Slayer wriggling away. A combination from Stglitz does no damage. Stglitz throws a solid leg kick but Slayer takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Stglitz. Slayer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Stglitz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Slayer thinking. Slayer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stglitz as he avoids it easily. Stglitz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Stglitz gets caught flat footed, as Slayer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Slayer throwing strikes from guard but Stglitz blocks nicely. Slayer prevents Stglitz from getting back to his feet. Slayer works over Stglitz with some ground and pound from guard. Slayer is looking to work some ground and pound but Stglitz has wrist control. Slayer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Stglitz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Slayer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Slayer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stglitz has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stglitz dodges the ground and pound from Slayer. Slayer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stglitz, who protects the arm well. Slayer is breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Stglitz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stglitz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slayer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Slayer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Stglitz can't do much from the bottom here. Stglitz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Slayer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Slayer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Slayer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stglitz, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hugo Stglitz will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Slayer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stglitz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Hugo Stglitz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorje Slayer. Slayer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Stglitz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slayer circles away quickly and effectively. Slayer has his takedown stuffed and Stglitz counters with a one-two to the body. Stglitz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Slayer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Stglitz takes a swing at Slayer's ribcage but misses. Hugo Stglitz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stglitz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Stglitz is looking to wear down Slayer with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Stglitz lands a nice shot that snaps Slayer's head back.
Stglitz lands with an uppercut that bounces Slayer off the cage and back into rage. Stglitz cracks a nice hook into Slayer's ribs. Stglitz misses with a double jab
and Slayer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Stglitz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Slayer off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Stglitz throws a low kick but Slayer avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hugo Stglitz. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stglitz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
