Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reonid Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Sinclaire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Sinclaire is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sinclaire decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sinclaire is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Petrov sees it coming and defends easily. Sinclaire is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Petrov has managed to free his arm - good work. Sinclaire is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sinclaire is working for a submission of some sort.
Petrov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sinclaire is working away from the top position though. Sinclaire should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Petrov tries to kick Sinclaire off but Sinclaire keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sinclaire has eaten all the pies! Petrov wants to control but Sinclaire is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sinclaire is looking for a kimura here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sinclaire feints and as Petrov raises his hands in defense, Sinclaire changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinclaire wants to pass the guard but Petrov is keeping the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Petrov is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Petrov in particular looking to stall. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Petrov prevents Sinclaire from improving his position. Petrov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sinclaire moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Petrov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sinclaire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Petrov has managed to get both his arms back between Sinclaire's legs - danger averted. Sinclaire looking for a sweep. Not yet Sinclaire, not yet. Petrov wants to get up but he can't break Sinclaire's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sinclaire throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Petrov was covering up waiting for the punch and Sinclaire finishes the takedown easily into guard. Sinclaire looking to pass the guard. Petrov is trying to control the position but Sinclaire postures up. Petrov can't keep his opponent in guard - Sinclaire advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Petrov wants to control but Sinclaire is keeping busy.
Sinclaire moves into full mount! Petrov won't be happy about that! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Sinclaire dominated that round. That's time! Petrov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sinclaire shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sinclaire showed some decent athleticism there. Sinclaire is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sinclaire manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Petrov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Petrov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sinclaire tries to land a sweep but no joy. Petrov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sinclaire is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
