Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauri Ruoska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ruoska's choice of entrance music: Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunder misses with a body kick.
Ruoska wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Thunder keeps the fight on the outside.

Thunder throws a right and a left that Ruoska avoids nicely.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Thunder.

Ruoska darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ruoska wants to work for an arm triangle but Thunder is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Thunder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ruoska is working away from the top position though.

so Ruoska counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thunder takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Mauri Ruoska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ruoska moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ruoska uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ruoska swings around for an armbar but Thunder sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ruoska's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ruoska holds on and takes a little breather.

I would just about give that final round to Mauri Ruoska.
Well Ruoska has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
