Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boris Matchenkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). smith has chosen down with the sickness as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. smith has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matchenkov moves into range and clinches up with smith.
smith looks gassed!
Matchenkov goes for a takedown in the clinch but smith prevents it.
Matchenkov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Matchenkov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Matchenkov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Matchenkov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed smith's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matchenkov was covering up waiting for the punch and smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Matchenkov tries to close the distance and clinch but smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Matchenkov tightens his grip and picks smith up, before dumping him to the ground. smith manages to land in guard.
smith is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Matchenkov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Matchenkov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matchenkov has smith in his guard.

You can see the frustration on Matchenkov's face as smith controls the position.

Matchenkov misses with a takedown attempt - smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Matchenkov wants to clinch up but smith keeps it at a distance.
smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Matchenkov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but smith pulls his head out easily.

Matchenkov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

smith is bucking up trying to escape but Matchenkov cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Matchenkov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
