Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donal McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Doe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Donal McGuire! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuire throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doe's waist but Doe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGuire off to one side. McGuire has a takedown stuffed. McGuire closes this distance looking for a takedown but Doe circles away. Joe Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donal McGuire. Doe misses with a series of wild punches.
Doe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

McGuire has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Doe lands a nice looking body kick. Doe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Doe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGuire is defended easily by Doe. McGuire looks gassed! McGuire on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGuire tries to keep at a distance but Doe has taken the fight into the clinch. Doe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGuire takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Doe rushes McGuire and presses him up against the cage. Doe breaks from the clinch.
Doe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Doe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Doe trying to control but McGuire is working from the bottom. Doe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGuire works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McGuire looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Doe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGuire on the ground. Doe trying to control the position from guard on top but McGuire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Doe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Doe lands a couple of digs. Doe cracks McGuire with a solid left hand. Doe with a flurry of punches that miss. That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Doe cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Doe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McGuire's face.
Doe lands a heavy elbow. Doe jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McGuire manages to avoid the submission attempt. McGuire gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. McGuire looking for submissions off his back. McGuire avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Doe. McGuire manages to get to full guard.
McGuire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGuire tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Doe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McGuire's guard. McGuire moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. McGuire working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Doe wants to pass the guard but McGuire is keeping the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McGuire looking for a guillotine here but Doe defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McGuire takes one to the chin there. A nice inside leg kick there by Doe. That's going to slow McGuire down. Doe has taken the fight to the clinch.
McGuire jumps guard but Doe stands there with McGuire around his waist. McGuire gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Doe tries to bum rush McGuire with a series of wild strikes but McGuire uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McGuire with a lazy takedown attempt and Doe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Joe Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donal McGuire. McGuire misses with a takedown and Doe counters by moving into the clinch. McGuire is trying desperately to land a takedown but Doe is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for McGuire. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Doe tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGuire slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Doe is pushing down on McGuire's leg trying to pass to half guard. McGuire is fighting to maintain full guard but Doe has managed to sneak the leg through. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGuire looking for submissions from an awkward position here. McGuire has an active guard here but Doe has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A shot to de liver by Doe. Beautiful body shot. McGuire misses with a takedown attempt - Doe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Doe closes the distance and lands a one-two. Doe looks to land a combination but McGuire avoids it well. Doe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGuire circles away quickly and effectively. No luck for McGuire with that takedown attempt. Doe scores with a one two! McGuire had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. McGuire fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Doe is keen to just control but McGuire is a slippery customer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Doe defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of McGuire's arms. A couple of punches soften him up though and McGuire has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Doe taps out!
