Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Earp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hebert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Earp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Hebert!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earp throws a hook but Hebert avoids it easily.
Hebert uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Earp.
Earp fails with a takedown attempt.
Earp moves in looking to clinch but Hebert pushes him off.
Nice sprawl there from Hebert as Earp shoots in.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Earp, right into the meat.

Hebert clinches.
Earp is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgil Earp. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Earp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Earp moves in looking to clinch but Hebert pushes him off.
Hebert looks to land a body kick but Earp moved away.
Earp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Earp chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hebert can pounce on him.

Earp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hebert.

Hebert throws a series of punches but Earp avoids them all with ease.
A cross from Hebert lands.
Hebert throws a combination. Earp tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Hebert drives through and clinches with Earp against the cage.
Earp letting Hebert take a breather here.
Earp tries to land knees in the clinch but Hebert avoids the damage to the body.
Earp has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hebert avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hebert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hebert might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Earp kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Earp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hebert is working away from the top position though.
Hebert is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Earp!

Hebert connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Hebert throws a leg kick which misses Earp's front leg but catches the back leg as Earp tries to avoid it.

Earp tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Earp looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hebert puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hebert tries to hold on but Earp postures up.
Hebert keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hebert is looking to improve his position but Earp isn't that keen on the idea.
Hebert wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Earp.

Earp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hebert is looking to escape.
Earp is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hebert is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hebert wants to control but Earp is having none of it.
Hebert wants to try and get back to his feet.
Hebert avoids a series of strikes thrown by Earp.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Earp trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Earp looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Earp tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Earp seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Hebert is holding on tight.
Earp sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Earp looking to control but Hebert is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Earp won't let Hebert get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

A close second round but Sam Hebert will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Hebert throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Earp.

and Hebert counters with a good low kick that Earp was not able to check.

Hebert takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Earp wants to clinch up but Hebert keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Earp manages to break the clinch.
Earp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hebert is fending him off so far but Earp persists. Nope, Hebert circles away and we're back to standing.
Earp tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Earp is looking to clinch but Hebert is avoiding it.
Hebert thuds his shin into the meat of Earp's side.

and Hebert counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hebert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hebert gets to his feet. Earp looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hebert gets a takedown into half guard.
Well, if Hebert is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Earp wants to improve his position but Hebert is controlling well.
Hebert is looking to take a break and control but Earp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Virgil Earp has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hebert wants to stand up but Earp has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well Hebert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
