Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mrs gusberti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, mrs gusberti!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
gusberti looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard.

Smith stands up and waves to gusberti to follow him.
gusberti takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith wants to get back to his feet.

Smith stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Smith clinches.
Smith tries to circle away but gusberti has him pinned against the cage.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith scores with a body shot.
gusberti takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.

Smith stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Smith lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

gusberti gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Smith wants to get up but he can't break gusberti's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smith stands up from gusberti's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.
gusberti misses with a takedown attempt
and Smith counters with a left and a right that stings gusberti.

That has opened up mrs gusberti's cut even more.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.

Smith stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Smith counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smith.
Steve Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mrs gusberti.

gusberti is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.

Smith stands and steps away. gusberti gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but gusberti won't allow it.

gusberti is trying to force a seperation but Smith has the dominant position.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Smith counters with a left and a right that stings gusberti.
Smith cracks gusberti with a good jab.
gusberti tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily
and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

gusberti drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
gusberti stops Smith from standing up.
gusberti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

gusberti drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Smith dives on top into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Smith stands up and waves to gusberti to follow him.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Smith wants to stand but gusberti is controlling his posture from full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Smith has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing gusberti to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Smith is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - gusberti pulls down on the head and he's put Smith to sleep! This one is all over!
