Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomaz Ademak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Ross! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross looks to score with a jab to the body but Ademak is just out of range. Ademak ducks under a wild hook from Ross. Ademak slips a jab from Ross. Ross thows a body shot but no joy. Ademak throws a series of punches but Ross moves out of range. Ross just misses with a punch to the body.
Ademak has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ross is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ademak pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ross tries to pull guard but Ademak won't allow it.
Ademak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ademak throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ross was covering up waiting for the punch and Ademak finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ross keeping moving, preventing Ademak from controlling successfully. Ademak avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ademak trying to control the position from guard on top but Ross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ross has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ademak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ademak wants to control from the top but Ross keeps moving. Ademak advances position into side control! Ademak decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ross to his feet. Ademak shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ademak was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ross looks gassed! Ross is trying desperately to improve position. Ademak blocks Ross's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Ademak trying to control but Ross is having none of it. Ross is desperately trying to improve his position but Ademak has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ross has given up his back.
Ross staying busy and making it hard for Ademak to control. Ademak cracks Ross with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Ross from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Ademak lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ross is trying to break free.
Ademak lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Ademak.
Ademak keeps control of the position easily here as Ross tries to buck him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ademak tries to keep control of the position but Ross is staying busy. Ademak has good solid back control here. Ross wants to control his opponent's hands but Ademak gets his hands free. Ademak controls the action. Ademak scores with punches to the body. Ademak is looking to control Ross but Ross is wriggling around and keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ross is covering up but some of the strikes from Ademak are getting through and doing damage.
Ademak lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Ademak has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ross has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Ademak controls the action. Ademak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ross on the ground. Ross tries to roll but Ademak sticks to his back.
Ademak is trying to stick to Ross's back but Ross is turning into Ademak. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ademak's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ross. Ademak uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ademak connects with a high kick. Ross tries to keep at a distance but Ademak has taken the fight into the clinch. Ademak makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomaz Ademak dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ademak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ross paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brian Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ross throws a combination that misses and Ademak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ross's guard now. Ross is looking for a triangle but Ademak pushes his legs off easily.

Ross wants to improve his position but Ademak is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ademak is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ademak is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ross! Ademak trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ademak postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ross looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ademak gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ademak lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Ademak clinches up with Ross and pushes him back against the cage. Ademak breaks the clinch.

Ademak looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ademak lands with a punch from half guard. Ross on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ademak trying to control the action but Ross is working from the bottom. Ross is looking to improve his position.
Tomaz Ademak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ademak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ademak throws a right and a left that both miss. Brian Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ademak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ross tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Ademak takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ademak escapes and gets back to his feet. Ademak moves into range and clinches up with Ross. A nice right hand lands inside from Ademak. Ross has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ademak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ademak breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ademak makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Ademak. Ademak lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ross backwards. Ademak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ademak is really struggling to control Ross but he's trying to hold on to the position. Ross manages to get back to half guard. Ross actively working from the bottom here. Ross is not content to let Ademak control the position. Ademak wants to stand up but Ross has a hold of him and won't allow it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ademak moves into range and clinches up with Ross. Ross jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ademak walks away with a smile on his face. Ross gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ademak moves into the clinch successfully.

Ademak closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ross is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Ademak scores with punches from side control. Ross sneaks back into half guard. Ademak is looking to take a break and control but Ross is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ross looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ademak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ross can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross is looking for a sweep. Ademak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ademak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Ademak decides to stand and escape the position. Ademak moves into the clinch successfully.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Ademak obliges. Ademak gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Ademak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ademak gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Tomaz Ademak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ademak misses with a takedown attempt - Ross sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ross throws a lazy right hand but Ademak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ademak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ademak lands in his opponent's guard. Ross has his foot on Ademak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ademak works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ademak has picked Ross up and slammed him! Ross can't keep hold of the triangle and Ademak manages to pass to side control! Ademak decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ross to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ademak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ademak is looking to clinch. Ross missing with a left hand there. Ademak was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ademak throws a series of punches but Ross avoids them all with ease. Ademak moves into the clinch. Ademak lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Tomaz Ademak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Ross. Ross tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ademak just stands there and leans against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Ademak. Brian Ross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A hook to the body from Ademak.
Ademak lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Tomaz Ademak showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ademak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
