Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randsome Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Hoppus!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoppus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard.
Hoppus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hoppus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gracie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gracie has escaped and now he's on top!
Hoppus wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.

Hoppus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hoppus is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hoppus throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hoppus's guard.
Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoppus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.
Hoppus is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hoppus avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gracie with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hoppus for as long as he can get away with.
Hoppus makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hoppus.

Hoppus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoppus wants to hit a switch here but Gracie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hoppus there!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoppus is really stuck here.

Hoppus won't enjoy being in this position. Gracie looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Hoppus is tapping - it's over boys! Gracie picks up the submission victory!
