Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Trick Daddy - Let's Go ft Twista & Lil Jon blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson cracks Diaz with an open hand slap. Diaz shoots in and drives through. Henderson sprawls well. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Diaz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Diaz misses with an uppercut. Diaz with a lazy takedown attempt so Henderson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Oscar Diaz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Diaz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Henderson doesn't seem bothered though. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Henderson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Diaz wants to control but Henderson is keeping busy.
Diaz is not content to let Henderson control the position. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Henderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Henderson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Henderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Diaz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Diaz is pressing down on Henderson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diaz keeping moving, preventing Henderson from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Diaz fails with the takedown and Henderson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diaz! Henderson controlling the pace for now. Diaz really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
