Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chico Escuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Awesome Offense (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Awesome Offense is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chico Escuela! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Awesome Offense! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Offense misses its intended target. Escuela shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Offense manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Escuela drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Offense manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Escuela has Offense in his guard. Offense trying to control but Escuela is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Escuela looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Offense has picked Escuela up and slammed him! Escuela can't keep hold of the triangle and Offense manages to pass to side control! Offense wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escuela keeps working. Escuela is looking for a sweep. Escuela is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Offense is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Escuela throwing hammer fists to the chest of Offense. What's that going to do exactly? Escuela working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escuela looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! You can see the frustration on Escuela's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Escuela is working hard here to advance position. A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Offense tries to get the hooks in deep but Escuela pushed the leg off. Offense is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Escuela knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Escuela for a finish. Escuela breaks Offense's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Offense is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Offense checks a leg kick nicely. Offense throws a hook but Escuela blocks it. Escuela throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Offense was covering up waiting for the punch and Escuela finishes the takedown easily into guard. Escuela drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Offense dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escuela is looking for a triangle here but Offense uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Escuela is looking for a sweep. Escuela looking for a sweep but Offense has passed into full mount! Oh no! Offense trying to control but he's not successful this time. Offense with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Escuela regains half guard. Escuela tries to get to full guard but Offense has control of the leg. Escuela actively working from the bottom here. Escuela is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Offense pulls his head out easily. Offense trying to control the action but Escuela is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chico Escuela will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Escuela ducks right into an uppercut from Offense. Escuela thuds a left hand into Offense's body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Escuela. A big right from Offense misses. Offense misses with a body shot.
Escuela misses the jab. Escuela misses with a kick to the body.
Escuela misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Offense has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Offense there as he acknowledges the shot. Offense uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Escuela. Escuela looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Offense! Escuela landing strikes, looking to finish! Escuela goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Offense turns into him and now he's in Escuela's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escuela looking for subs off his back but Offense has passed one foot through into half guard.
Escuela wants to get back to full guard. Escuela looking for a kimura from the bottom but Offense passes into side control! Escuela is not content to let Offense control the position. Escuela looking for a sweep but Offense has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Escuela looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Offense is trying to stick to Escuela's back but Escuela is turning into Offense. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Offense's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Escuela. Escuela throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Offense works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Offense keeping full guard, as Escuela tries to pass. Escuela throwing strikes from guard but Offense blocks nicely. Offense is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escuela passes Offense's left leg - he's now in half guard. Offense wants to get back to full guard. Escuela is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Offense doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Escuela. Escuela is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Offense has managed to free his arm - good work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Escuela prevents Offense from improving his position. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Escuela here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Escuela looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Escuela is working for a submission of some sort.
Offense is defending against the submission attempts here by Escuela.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chico Escuela dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Escuela takes one to the side of the head.
Escuela shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Offense napping and manages to drive through into side control! Offense tries to buck Escuela off but Escuela is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Escuela crashes against the mat.
Escuela looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Escuela tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Escuela swings around for an armbar but Offense sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Escuela's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escuela looking for a guillotine here but Offense defends easily.
Offense stopping the sweep attempt from Escuela. Offense postures up in Escuela's guard and throws a big left but Escuela blocks it. Escuela keeping moving, preventing Offense from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Offense looking to pass the guard. Offense must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Escuela is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Awesome Offense has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Offense trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jab from Offense. Offense stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Offense wants it to stay on the feet. Offense lands a lovely overhand right. Escuela throws a sloppy body shot
and Offense counters with a series of strikes. Escuela will be more careful next time no doubt. Escuela avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nice straight punches there by Escuela. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Escuela.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Offense fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Escuela on the side of the head. Escuela changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Offense looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Offense defending against the ground and pound. Escuela tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Escuela is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Offense is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Escuela is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Offense knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Offense struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Offense is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Offense is trying to control Escuela's posture but Escuela avoids it. Chico Escuela overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Offense is looking for a sweep. Chico Escuela is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Escuela changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Offense looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Offense struggling a bit here. Escuela looks up at the clock and then as Offense takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Escuela smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that's the end of the fight! Chico Escuela showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Escuela, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
