Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Niklasson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Dublin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Niklasson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Connor Dublin!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dublin moves in looking to clinch but Niklasson pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Dublin or perhaps it was just good defense by Niklasson which made him look bad.

Niklasson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dublin was covering up waiting for the punch and Niklasson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Niklasson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dublin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Niklasson, into his guard.
Niklasson pulls Dublin in to control the position.
Dublin tries to stand but Niklasson is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Niklasson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Niklasson is trying to control the position but Dublin postures up.
Dublin trying to control but Niklasson is working from the bottom.
Niklasson has Dublin pulled in close to control his posture.
Dublin wants to pass the guard but Niklasson is keeping the position.
Niklasson wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dublin gets caught flat footed, as Niklasson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Niklasson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Niklasson throws a big right hand that misses.
Niklasson slips nicely into half guard.
Dublin is looking to improve his position.
Niklasson wants to control but Dublin is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Niklasson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Dublin stops Niklasson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Dublin is trying to escape the mount.
Niklasson moves to the back position.
Dublin breaks Niklasson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Niklasson is breathing heavily.

Dublin drops back looking for a leg! Niklasson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Niklasson manages to kick Dublin off! Dublin jumps back into Niklasson's guard.
Niklasson is trying to control the position but Dublin postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Niklasson wants to get back to his feet but Dublin passes into half guard.
Dublin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Niklasson keeps working.
Niklasson tries to get to full guard but Dublin has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Niklasson wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Niklasson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dublin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Niklasson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Dublin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Niklasson's guard now.
Niklasson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dublin on the ground.
Dublin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Niklasson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Niklasson tries to get out of the position.
Dublin postures up in Niklasson's guard and throws a big left but Niklasson blocks it.
Dublin wants to stand but Niklasson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Dublin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Niklasson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Niklasson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Niklasson!
Dublin is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Niklasson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dublin keeps working.
Niklasson prevents Dublin from escaping the position.

Niklasson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Dublin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dublin tries to bench press Niklasson off him but Niklasson keeps the position.
Niklasson prevents Dublin from escaping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Niklasson feints and as Dublin raises his hands in defense, Niklasson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Niklasson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Niklasson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dublin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Niklasson, into his guard.

Niklasson pushes Dublin off and scrambles back to his feet.

Dublin throws a right and a left that both miss.

Niklasson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Niklasson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dublin is on top in guard.
Niklasson has a closed guard, preventing Dublin from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Niklasson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Niklasson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dublin wants to stand but Niklasson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Niklasson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dublin is one step ahead there.
Niklasson keeping moving, preventing Dublin from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Connor Dublin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Niklasson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dublin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Niklasson has managed to get both his arms back between Dublin's legs - danger averted.
Niklasson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Niklasson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dublin dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Niklasson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Peter Niklasson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dublin wanted to stand there but Niklasson had control of the position.
Dublin wants to control from the top but Niklasson keeps moving.
Dublin forces his way into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dublin connects with a nice short shot to Niklasson's temple.

Dublin is keen to just control but Niklasson is a slippery customer.
Niklasson wants to control but Dublin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dublin wants to take a breather but Niklasson is having none of it.
Dublin passes to side control.

Dublin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Niklasson, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Niklasson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dublin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I wouldn't like to be where Niklasson is right now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Connor Dublin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dublin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
