Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Wayne McCullough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Escudero!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCullough avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Escudero blocks a head kick by McCullough.
Escudero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McCullough attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Escudero tries to clinch but McCullough is having none of it.
Escudero checks a low kick from McCullough.
McCullough misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Escudero scores with a head kick.
Escudero throws a hook to the side of McCullough's head but McCullough sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Escudero misses with a wild combination.
Escudero lands with a kick to the temple. McCullough shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Escudero throws a head kick that misses
letting McCullough counter with a right hand.
Escudero lands a high kick!
McCullough throws an overhand right that lands on Escudero's shoulder, as Escudero tries to avoid the shot.
Escudero wants to clinch up but McCullough keeps it at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Escudero.
McCullough cracks Escudero with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Escudero tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but McCullough pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Escudero is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayne McCullough!
