Melendez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Here Comes The Best. Rocco Melendez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rocco Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez throws a jab when Plumper was well out of range.
Plumper moves in looking to clinch but Melendez pushes him off.
Melendez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Biggy Plumper has been cut.
Plumper avoids the body shot from Melendez.
Melendez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Rocco Melendez has been cut.
Plumper tries to clinch up.
Plumper throws a push kick but Melendez slaps the foot to one side.
Plumper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Melendez circles away.
Plumper swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Melendez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Plumper with a lazy takedown attempt
and Melendez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Plumper is breathing heavily.
A punch combination from Melendez misses.
Melendez cracks Plumper on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Plumper falls backwards against the ropes. Melendez follows up with more strikes that drop Plumper to his knees. Melendez keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Plumper! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocco Melendez!
