The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice combination there by Hawkins.
It looks like Julio dos Anjos has been cut.
dos Anjos throws a series of punches but Hawkins avoids them all with ease.
dos Anjos closes the distance and clinches up with Hawkins, looking for a takedown. dos Anjos pushes Hawkins against the cage but Hawkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
dos Anjos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hawkins as he jumps to the side.
Hawkins keeps the fight on the outside.
dos Anjos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hawkins is fending him off so far but dos Anjos persists. Nope, Hawkins circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio dos Anjos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

dos Anjos gets caught flat footed, as Hawkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
dos Anjos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hawkins!
Hawkins tries to hold on but dos Anjos pushes him away.
Hawkins sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Hawkins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hawkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in dos Anjos's guard.
dos Anjos is breathing heavily.
Hawkins trying to control the position from guard on top but dos Anjos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hawkins wants to pass the guard but dos Anjos is keeping the position.
dos Anjos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hawkins stands and steps away. dos Anjos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hawkins misses with the combination.
BC Hawkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
dos Anjos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and dos Anjos wants it to stay on the feet.
Hawkins doesn't manage to clinch there - dos Anjos circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from dos Anjos is defended easily by Hawkins.

and Hawkins counters with a three punch combo that has dos Anjos backing up. dos Anjos nods at Hawkins to acknowledge the strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins works over dos Anjos with some ground and pound from guard.

Hawkins stays in close to dos Anjos's body and controls the position.
Hawkins passes dos Anjos's left leg - he's now in half guard.
dos Anjos wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
dos Anjos wants to get back to full guard but Hawkins has mounted him!
dos Anjos is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
dos Anjos is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hawkins locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! dos Anjos is forced to tap!
