PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Atarian Uksard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Sirminov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirminov has chosen Raining Blood as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Atarian Uksard has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Atarian Uksard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Sirminov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uksard takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Uksard avoids the head kick by Sirminov.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sirminov.
Uksard is trying to control Sirminov's posture but Sirminov avoids it.
Uksard is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sirminov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Uksard tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Uksard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Uksard has his foot on Sirminov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sirminov works his way back into a safe position though.

Sirminov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sirminov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Uksard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sirminov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sirminov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Uksard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sirminov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sirminov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Uksard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sirminov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Uksard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sirminov's guard.
Uksard wants to control from the top but Sirminov keeps moving.

Uksard is working hard here to advance position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Uksard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Uksard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sirminov is looking to clinch but Uksard is avoiding it.

Sirminov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Uksard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sirminov pulls his head out easily.

Sirminov is trying to work for a kimura but Uksard is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atarian Uksard dominated that round.
That's time! Uksard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Horrible takedown by Sirminov or perhaps it was just good defense by Uksard which made him look bad.

Uksard shoots in and bounces Sirminov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Uksard wants to control from the top but Sirminov keeps moving.
Uksard is pushing down on Sirminov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sirminov is fighting to maintain full guard but Uksard has managed to sneak the leg through.

Uksard is working for a submission of some sort.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sirminov manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Sirminov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uksard is aware though and is defending well.

Uksard drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Uksard as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Sirminov screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Uksard! Nice submission victory there!
